Thoughts on Dreams

Well, whats coming - I'm not sure how to explain things really just that I try to work out what dream mean and how do they relate to real life... or is this the dream and there is the real world... any how its in progres

Dreamland – Fun yet dangerous with the occasional kickback (pt1/2)

In the last week, I was out with friends and drank a variety of drinks – it was either malibu or bacardi mixed with pepsi – not as great as coke cola but still worked well. I chose not to mix anything else and was thankful I didn’t.

I am aware of my general limits for drinking between having a good night, and having a good followed by bad night – seems its something else from uni I had around 7 drinks with a spirit of some sort, and usually cola with them. I felt tispy is the best word but seemed to stay there for a while – I was really glad I didn’t drink more as had the feeling for around 3 hours after I had stopped.

Anyhow, the dreams…

I slept for around 10 hours and had quite a mixture of dreams – some were like a continuation of the night, mixing dancing and singing of sorts to others of adventure. Knowing while dreaming that I was dreaming but not being able to really make any changes like normal.

Things seems very bright and distict, and normal objects seemed to have great relevance for a little while then fade into the background as thou they were never there. I was running, dodging random objects through streets – that were not streets but more like an open area of land with set dry mud ways all around as passageways or streets depending how you looked at it.

There was houses – but all that was in them was long passage ways and a double bedroom at the end where people rested. No other facilities – as thou it was just a stop over place before moving on – but while withing everything was safe and you couldn’t be hurt there.

At one point there was a small home type place, there was a mixture of old people/patients that had very short term memory – their rooms were tiny – enough for a bed and thats about it. At night the people were sent or taken there and it seemed stored until the next day. The people there didn’t seem bothered – it was as thou they didn’t recall any different or know of anything better. It didn’t seem right, but I had no control on how to make any changes.

Althou I had many dreams – it felt as thou they were all one canvess – and I was travelling through them. I recall seeing them all as seperates and then as part of one another – different parts of the same story. They didn’t seem to fit together in any particular way but I was aware of them as seperate dreams while at the same time being inside a dream I couldn’t control.

Often when I’ve been drinking, I seem to remember more than if sober – I can write it down easier, then file it away but can somehow access the memory much easier. Does my phsycee actually limit what I take in, and the dulling of the senses with alchol actually release some of the locks that allow me to remember more.

Or maybe its just that you make more of an effort to protect oneself while drinking as you know it changes the chemical makeup and in the process remember more, I am not sure but could be interesting to find out… but were all different so what works for one may not for another.

I know there was a lot more, but words doesn’t seem to cover what I was feeling, seeing and doing so until the clarity comes with it all, thats all I can say. I can still see it and feel it, when seeing it again but it doesn’t seem to help with the words.

Dreams – After alchol can be even Weirder

I dont know anyone but I feel this is familure – I know I’m meant to be here but not at the same time. I am in a class room, taking a class – its enjoyable but I feel lost. I know I’m meant to be in this one but where am I next. Everyone else seems to know whats going on but I can’t find my schedule.

Class is enjoyable – The teacher was friendly and encouraging at the same time teaching in a way that was informative but more like a chat that a lecture. The class had over ran, but we didn’t notice – Someone came into the room to tell us and ask why we still where there. It had been going for 80 minutes, when only it was meant to be an hour. It was 9:40 am so we must have started quite early.

We left the class to go elsewhere but I didn’t know where next was to be. I looked all over for my class plan but couldn’t find it – I couldn’t remember what class was or what I was studying but knew I was meant to be there.

I wandered and then remembered the plan was on the shelves where we went in the room. I’d put it down and got ditracted and headed in without it. I went back to the shelving where there was all sorts of items that were mine – I couldn’t seem to fit them all in my bag but found a swipe card, and some leaflets that apparently told me where I was meant to be.

I couldn’t understand it so headed back to the begginning, I walked through coridoors and saw some people I knew. They directed me to somewhere I could leave things, but still I didn’t know where I was meant to be.

All of a sudden, it didn’t matter where I was meant to be – just that I was to have the swipe card, and to meet with everyone else. The swipe card was on a lanyard that went round my neck – everyone had them – it was just what was and was meant to be – no one questioned it – it just was.

We were going out, I was a student and we were going for a students night out – everyone was getting ready – male/female all together – co-ed showers and changing – it felt the norm and we were all getting ready to go out.

I had a massive headache and think I must have blacked out as was morning and I was in bed again. I started tidying the room, and looking for a clock – it was 8:30am – the last I’d seen it was 9:30pm so time was gone.

I started to remember the night before, but not all of it – just in bits. I found a T-shirt I was going to wear out with jeans, when someone spilt something orange on it – I ended up wearing a shirt some one gave me. It had long thin blue strips going down it – it felt good and I was happy.

There was lots of drinks, mixed together and lots of dancing – It was enjoyable but my head was hurting, someone took me back and I’d went to bed. In the morning, while tidying up I realised I was sharing a room with others.

Two friends had hooked up and were in the bed across the room. I hadn’t heard them come in – I must have really been asleep. The guy there was from my past – We’d known each other years, and was sharing a room as it was just easier, and cheaper. The girl i’d not met before.

They got up, as did I after I’d had a glorious hot shower. I recall commenting that I thought it was a good night, but wish i’d been able to stay out longer but was glad my headache was gone today. In my mind, I was regretting coming back as could have also “hooked up” with some one.

The girl commented that she gets migrane/headaches and takes diazepan for it, i said I took amytriptaline. We talked meds for a while, and then headed out. My friend seemed to follow her everywhere – it was quite cute really.

We looked out a window of the large fields with mini bank where people starting to gather for classes I presume, we headed out and then I awoke – Awoke here back in this world.

Confused, but got there somehow

I was back at school, and had friends all around me – There was a new guy and it was home time and we were setting off home. He was looking for a bus while I chose to save money and walk it.

It was bout an hours walk to home but I didn’t have any plans so started to go. I’d never walked this route but went anyway. There was a large building with lots of people in it all fancy dressed – I saw a friend helping out with drinks so headed over and inside.

While inside, I was offered drinks and food. I knew I shouldn’t really be there so didn’t accept the offer. I couldn’t find the one I saw earlier and wandered around and bumped into others that I knew wondering why I was there.

I was saying “Hi” and heading off out. I walked for a while and needed a drink I got a canned lemonade drink for just 13 pence. The areas I walked through didn’t feel safe but I felt ok there at the same time continuing to walk, and occasionally run through.

I went through a tunnel and I was in a large complex of what could be descibed as a lot of water slides interlinked with a mixture of air and water blasting things from one place to another.

There were Balls – large tennis ball sized Ball bearings being blasted around, and depending which route they took seemed to change the world outside. If the were slow, the outside was calm with nice weather but if they rumbled across an area – the outside was rough.

I was told there was no control of what happened, they were just in charge to keep it going and make sure it didn’t stop – otherwise everything else would stop and thats not a good thing.

After a while of watching, I was also on the slides with people – it was the way to get around – The balls would just pass through you and be on their way unless you chose to stop them with certain movements.

We controlled everything, including time – If the system was stopped – time seamed to stop until it was restarted. If certain areas were reversed – time rolled back and could be used again – I stopped and tried to head off.

There was a ledge that went to a pool, some guy was asking for a deposit to go there and took a jacket to help ensure we came back. I didn’t know where the jacket I had came from and gave it and headed out with no intention of reclaiming it. I dived into the pool and then headed out – I was dry before leaving the pool which felt strange and right at the time.

I headed out, I still had over 40 minutes walk back but it was getting dark. I saw people in the large building and headed there. I wandered around and saw family but didn’t go over. I just wandered around.

There was music and dancing going on – a mixture of ballroom, jive + salsa. Many women were getting up, but not so many men. I was asked to dance by a pretty lady – I replied with “I can’t remember how, but i’ll give it a try” – I was lead to start and it came back to me how to dance.

I enjoyed it there for a few hours before heading out at which point I bumped into family who wondered how and why I was there, but took me home.

The night finished, and I woke up back in bed… I tried to write this all down but just as it was about finished I woke up again realising i’d only dreamed writing it. Very annoying but now its done… Hopefully.

Balls – They Control Everything

• View Part 1 of the dream

The street theater – There was circus like acts going on, people up high on wierd bikes or stilts in bright costumes. There was something everywhere most of the time unless you went out into the fields that just seemed to go on forever. You chose the weather by thinking it and it happened – be it Rain, glorious sunshine, or snow.

We went out in the snow and built snow people, it was snow and we just seemed to have the warm clothes to wear, there was clothes racks all over and you just grabbed what you wanted. It wasn’t cold but just right and it was so easy to make things… everything we wanted just seemed to be lying around. There was snow ball fights getting us all drenched and covered and wandered over to a pond that was frozen over – we went ice skating, and chilled out just having fun.

I recall thinking, “is this all a dream?” and tried to float but couldn’t. Usually if I work out its a dream I can float or fly and continue. The rain was lovely at night, such a relaxing sound it bouncing off the glass windows.

There was play parks big enough for adults with huge slides, and swings that you could get really high on – not recommended to jump from althou we did and recall it hurting but just for a couple of seconds before going back and playing some more. There was climbing frames, and a few zip lines over water and this wierd spongy foam that seemed to take quite an impact and not hurt when you hit it.

Food was awesome, there seemed to be a place for everything – I recall a place that served just loads of different crisps and a dance floor for salsa – it was great. You could watch or join in. I could seem to remember all the moves from classes in my real life inside the dream and actually be able to do them and enjoy it. The food was eat as much or little as you want.

There was trampolines about the size of 4 normal club sized ones put together – you could get really high and catapult yourself all over or mix with friends and play amazing games of seat attack catapulting one another into the air.

It didn’t feel like you were in danger unless you went down the bank through the shopping centre, everywhere else seemed safe and the people around us were happy too. Only at one point when we were heading down past the centre did we need to stop the group and re-direct them – they were heading towards the unpleasent place but they couldn’t seem to feel it – a strange sense I seemed to have.

Days seemed to pass into weeks yet I was only asleep a few hours, I awoke feeling refreshed but suprised I was at home. I have no idea how I got there, or how I returned but look forward to going there again like so many of my past dreams – they somehow reconnect and its like a continuation.

Dreamland – Fun yet dangerous with the occasional kickback (pt2/2)

There was what seemed to be a town, like a giant themepark – everywhere there was something to do: be it a show or event somewhere, a ride to go on, a stall to play at or a place to eat at aswell as street theater all around me.

Down one road it felt very dark, it went into a shopping centre with all grey closed shutters and down a hill. At the top of the hill there was an open market stall with veg, and fruit and a girl behind the counter serving and looking oddly towards me when I started to head down the hill. I felt uncomfortable and it was as thou you were diving into an unknown danger – I headed back up and into the central area – the whole atmostphere felt better and happier again.

There was a lot of shows on, for almost anything imagined I recall but don’t remember what they were – just remember that everything seemed covered in some way or uncovered in many ways. You had the choice to be an audience member or actually get up and have a go at anything. It was fun, scary, entertaining and rewarding.

There were loads of people around me, they seemed familure but at the same time unknown to me. I made friends with a few of them and we wandered around the place together.

There was an area to design your own rollercoaster and then ride it with friends, so many high sudden turns that surely were unsafe and unlikely to ever happen in the real world. It was something you designed and said you’d like and then come back and ride – kind of like waiting for a picture to be developed.

Time – it wasn’t just a few hours, it was more like around a few weeks or so had passed with the time there – even recall going to sleep and getting up and right back into the action. We often crashed out in different places after a nights entertainment.

One afternoon there was an attack… some people were running around and we originally thought it was a scene from a theater piece to find out suddenly it wasn’t as the people came towards us. They were covered with blood, cuts all over and dragging others down with them.

We ran but some people came after us with knives and we ran fast and got split up. We went up & down steps, over fences/walls and through a maze of buildings.. we looked back they seemed to be gone we kept on going and returned to the centre again to meet up again.
